ABOUT
OUR EXPERTS
A unique and important
site feature is that all answers are refereed by a group of experts.
In addition, this same group of experts is available to answer
consumer questions not found on the web site. An expert is a person
with,
or who has access to, the knowledge needed to provide accurate
food safety answers with science- and research-based information.
Experts are needed in
the following topic areas:
- Food categories (Red
meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, fruits and vegetables, etc.)
- Foodborne pathogens
- Chemical (natural
toxins, allergens, packaging materials, metals, etc.)
- High risk populations
- Food handling (cooking,
storage, thawing, etc.)
- Irradiation
- BSE
- Bioterrorism
- Organic foods
- Regulatory issues
(food labeling, recalls, etc.)
- Settings (schools,
daycare, restaurants, assisted living facilities, etc.)
You can contribute to
this project by:
- Reviewing our expert
training materials to
find out more about our project and our process for answering
food
safety
questions.
